Dan is the Principal Physiotherapist and director of Matrix QBN. Since the day we launched, he’s been one of the driving forces behind our success. His lifelong obsession with competitive sports and injury management has taken him to some exciting places. Dan has worked as a physio for various teams in AFL, MMA, and rugby league, including the ACT Brumbies.

Amanda has returned to Matrix after a two-year sabbatical in the UK, where she discovered her passion for yoga and pilates. She now incorporates these art forms into her clinical exercise classes. Outside of work, you’ll probably find Amanda hammering a squash ball or taking part in a fitness bootcamp.

Kate is a titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist (M.Phty Sports, UQ) who loves to support athletes and amateur sports people to get back to peak performance. Kate has extensive experience in Rugby Union and was lead physiotherapist at the Tuggeranong Vikings Rugby Union Club for 9 seasons, including 4 John I Dent Cup premierships. Kate has worked with the Western Force, Waikato Chiefs, and Canberra Vikings. She recently completed a year in the UK with the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Union Club helping them come away with the Allianz Cup. In her spare time Kate enjoys staying active with gym and running.

By day, Matt Tran is a superstar physio and cat dad. By night, he’s a certified gym junkie and cat dad. He’s been involved in the local fitness industry for years; including competing in and winning local natural body building and power lifting competitions. Matt combines this industry knowledge with his physio skills to provide medical support to professional bodybuilders.

David is a multi-talented individual who combines his love of sport with a deep expertise in physiotherapy. He’s played softball at an elite level and continues to pursue his obsession with hockey. Before joining Matrix, David honed his craft on the NSW South Coast. Currently David is the physio for the Canberra Cavalry baseball team.

Josh is a proud country boy through and through – this shows in his happy go lucky and can do attitude in the clinic.

He has been involved with Eastlake AFL for the last 5 years and has a keen interest in contact sports. Josh is currently the head physio at the Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg squad. Outside of the clinic he’s a single figure golfer and a big rugby league fan (with questionable decisions on who to support). He is also the proud overall winner of our Queanbeyan Fun Sock Friday polls for 2022.

Marten is a sports fanatic – gaining experience as a sports trainer with the Tuggeranong Vikings Rugby Union Club and the Belconnen Magpies AFL Club. Marten is currently the head rehabilitation coach for the Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg squad and joins the medical staff for the Queanbeyan Roos in 2024. Outside of work, Marten enjoys searching for Canberra’s best burgers, bouldering and (mostly) stand up paddleboarding.

Tim has an obsession with all things sport and is somewhat of a cricket tragic. He has a particular interest in contact sports injuries, honing his craft as a sports trainer for the Queanbeyan Whites Rugby Union Club and Brumbies Junior Rugby teams. Prior to physiotherapy he had a previous career sitting behind a desk, so he understands the rigors of office work and the importance of staying active. Tim enjoys working with people from all walks of life, from professional athletes to retirees, and looks forward to celebrating even the smallest wins on the path towards achieving your goals.

Abbey loves to live life on the edge – whether that’s doing unsolicited handstands or signing up for marathons after a wine. Abbey also is an adventure nut, expressing her passion for this through travel and finding the next best hike. She brings this vivacious attitude to her work- always bringing a positive and fun approach to each patients rehab journey.

Abbey has also been most recently involved with the Queanbeyan Tigers AFL team, helping their players achieve success (and multiple premierships).

Jerry, contrary to stature is actually a volleyball fanatic. His passion to succeed is reflected in his approach to helping patients achieve their own goals. He has experience working with NDIS clients as an allied health assistant, as well as with sports teams including the Brumbies. In his spare time Jerry competes on the weekends in both beach and court volleyball or can be caught watching the volleyball anime Haikyuu.

Caitlyn (like many physiotherapists) started her love for sport from a young age. She has competed in representative oztag, touch football, and is a current league tag player for the Woden Valley Rams.

Having experienced her fair share of injuries across the years, Caitlyn combines her compassionate and empathetic nature with her experience being a qualified Reformer Pilates instructor to help others navigate both the physical and mental challenges involved with injury rehabilitation.

Outside of work and playing footy for the wrong side of town, Caitlyn enjoys keeping fit at the gym and being taken for walks by her wolfhound- Buster.

Kristen is highly motivated both personally and professionally which translates into her enthusiasm in helping people set goals and then go on to achieving them.

She currently works as an S&C Coach with the ACT Rockets (Indoor Cricket) and recently had the opportunity to travel over to Dubai with the Australian Junior Indoor Cricket team. She has also gained valuable Sports Science knowledge through an opportunity with the Canberra Raiders.

Kristen has lived experience of the rehabilitation journey (unfortunately multiple times) and applies this experience and empathy to motivate and support those she works with.

Keenan is a basketball enthusiast who grew up on the hard court. During his career he played in the Division 1 comp where his primary claim to fame is going up against Australia’s very own Dyson Daniels. (We don’t mention the game score.)

Due to experiencing a vast range of injuries himself and having family members dealing with chronic health conditions, Keenan grew a love for the industry and strives to combine with the current research with your own individual goals and circumstances to help get you back on your two feet, no matter the age and fitness level.

Outside of work, Keenan enjoys pushing himself at the gym and walking or running with his Siberian husky puppy to try get his daily 10k steps.
