Dan is the Principal Physiotherapist and co-director of Matrix. Since the day we launched, he’s been one of the driving forces behind our success. His lifelong obsession with competitive sports and injury management has taken him to some exciting places. Dan has worked as a physio for various teams in AFL, MMA, and rugby league, including the ACT Brumbies.

CAREY

Principal Physiotherapist and Director - PHILLIP

Jonathon has been involved with rugby union for many years, at everything from grassroots local teams to elite competition. In his professional life, he’s worked in emergency departments, trauma rehab, and orthopaedics. Jono looks after our mountain-biking clients because, as a competitive rider himself, he understands what the sport demands.

Senior Physiotherapist - QUEANBEYAN / GOOGONG

Amanda has returned to Matrix after a two-year sabbatical in the UK, where she discovered her passion for yoga and pilates. She now incorporates these art forms into her clinical exercise classes. Outside of work, you’ll probably find Amanda hammering a squash ball or taking part in a fitness bootcamp.

Senior Physiotherapist - QUEANBEYAN

Kate is a titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist (M.Phty Sports, UQ) who loves to support athletes and amateur sports people to get back to peak performance. Kate has extensive experience in Rugby Union and was lead physiotherapist at the Tuggeranong Vikings Rugby Union Club for 9 seasons, including 4 John I Dent Cup premierships. Kate has worked with the Western Force, Waikato Chiefs, and Canberra Vikings. In her spare time, Kate enjoys staying active with gym and hiking.

He’s been involved in the local fitness industry for years; including competing in and winning local natural body building and power lifting competitions. Matt combines this industry knowledge with his physio skills to provide medical support to professional body builders.

Muralietharan

Physiotherapist - QUEANBEYAN

Keishav lives and breathes sport of all codes. However, his true love is cricket and he currently plays in the ACT Premier Cricket competition. As a physio he has been involved with AFL, soccer and rugby; including working with the ACT Brumbies senior academy. Keishav has a keen interest in throwing sports, in particular cricket.

Caitlin
Howard

Physiotherapist - QUEANBEYAN

Despite being a mathematics nerd, Caitlin is also a lover of sport. She has a passion in particular for women’s sport and AFL. She is the current head physiotherapist for the Eastlake Football Club’s women’s program and has worked with both the junior Raiders and Brumbies. Caitlin loves surfing and horse riding and tries to do these whenever she gets the chance.

Caitlin is working part time in Queanbeyan while she studies Medicine at ANU.

Physiotherapist - QUEANBEYAN

Josh joins the Matrix team after completing a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra. He has been involved with Eastlake AFL for the last 5 years and has a keen interest in contact sports. Josh will join the medical staff of the Queanbeyan Kangaroos in 2022. Outside of the clinic he’s a single figure golfer and a big rugby league fan (with questionable decisions on who to support).

Gus
Shaw

Physiotherapist - QUEANBEYAN

Gus is our resident endurance sports enthusiast. As a competitor himself he understands the demands placed on the body in these events. He enjoys working in close collaboration with his patients to achieve their goals and has a specific interest in managing lower limb overuse injuries.

In the past Gus has worked with the ACT Brumbies and the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA).  He currently holds the role of head Physiotherapist for the Tuggeranong Vikings Swimming Club. In his time with ADFA he was involved in the prediction of MTSS AKA ‘shin splints’ in which he completed his honours degree.

Ashlea joins the Matrix team after completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra. She has an appreciation for high level sports injuries and rehabilitation. Outside of work she plays for the Brumbies women’s team in the Super W competition.

Born and bred on the South Coast, she enjoys all things coastal from surfing to paddle boarding and everything in between.

Angus joins the team after completing his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra. Angus is a passionate sports fan, being a diehard Melbourne Demons supporter as well a big cricket lover.

Angus draws upon both his physiotherapy expertise as well as his own rehabilitation experiences to expertly guide patients through their rehab journeys. He aims to ensure that when you return to sport that you do so with confidence that no stone has been left unturned enabling to realise your full sporting potential.

Claire enjoys sharing her exercise expertise with people of all needs and ages. During her time at university she had the privilege of learning from some of the best minds in high performance strength and conditioning/rehabilitation. This includes time spent with ACT Brumbies Rugby Union, Australian Women’s Development in Basketball, artistic gymnastics and athletics. She has been involved heavily in biomechanics research and attained her honours in this field last year.

Strength and Conditioning Coach - QUEANBEYAN

As Matrix’s own Strength and Conditioning coach Costa takes great pride in supporting amateur to elite athletes excel both on and off the pitch. He has worked with some of the best minds in the industry including at the Melbourne Rebels and ACT Academy of Sport (ACTAS) during his Masters. Outside of Matrix, he is the current S&C coach for the Canberra Raiders U19’s Women’s team and Uni-North’s Owls. Like most S&C coaches (a failed athlete), he enjoys a plethora of sports; in particular American Football, Soccer, and Rugby.
